Willow Shield Cap
Description
Cap convex to plane with umbo, Ø 2-6 cm, matt, fibrous, radially streaked with fibrils, bluish to greenish grey, with dark centre.
Gills white to pink.
Stem 3-6 cm x 8-12 mm, silky, whitish. Flesh whitish greyish. Smell faint.
Poisonous.
Occurrence
Common on branches, trunks and stumps of deciduous trees in deciduous woods and parks on damp soil. Spring to autumn.
Saprophyte.
