Description
Cap vaulted to depressed flattened or funnel-shaped, Ø 2-7 cm, felted, matt, strongly sticky resin-like, dirty light beige to ochre brown, sometimes with a wine red tinge, with a wavy upcurled incised coarsely notched sharp rim.
Gills descended, white of cream to yellowish, with a wavy of notched-serrated, sometimes brown flaky lamella edge.
Stem 2-5 x 0.5-1 cm, central to exocentric, fine felted clayish, sticky, ochre brown to dark brown. Flesh tough, beige. Taste mild, later sharp bitter. Smell pleasant.
Occurrence
On stems, stubs and trunks of conifers in coniferous and mixed forests on moderately damp to dry sand and loam soils, also on processed wood.
Saprophyte.
