Cortinarius uraceus

Description
Cap convex to expanded, with broad umbo, Ø 4-8 cm, dark brown to black-brown when damp; with a dull shine when dry, with ochre velar remnants and a pale margin.
Gills dark brown to red-brown.
Stem 6-8 cm x 5-7 mm, dark brown, with whitish yellow, fibrous zones and a white-felted base. Flesh dark brown. Smell of garden soil.
Spore-print colour rusty brown.

Occurrence
Near Pines in coniferous and mixed woods.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
