Thin-cupped Web Cap
Description
Cap irregularly convex, Ø 5-7 cm, silky-fibrous, matt, grey-brown to yellow-brown with pale violet margin.
Gills close, violet to violet-brown, with pale edge.
Stem 7-9 cm x 10-15 mm, violet, with ochrous belts and the base covered with violet mycelium. Flesh pale. Smell none.
Spore-print colour rusty brown.
Edible.
Occurrence
Fairly common near deciduous trees (Birch, Beech, Oak, Willow) in deciduous woods, shrubberies and avenues on sand or loam deficient in humus.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
