Description
Cap hemispherical or conical to expanded bell-shaped, Ø 1-3 cm, smooth, matt, dark tobacco-brown or reddish-brown when damp; creamy beige with dark centre when dry.
Stem 4-7 cm x 1-3 mm, smooth, silky, creamy white, with reddish hue. Flesh dingy cream to dark brown. Taste mild. Smell pleasant, spicy.
Poisonous.

Occurrence
Common in parks, public gardens, on lawns, in gardens and manured grassland on humus-rich sandy soil. Summer to autumn.
Saprophyte.
