Description
Cap egg-shaped to hemispherical or bell-shaped, Ø 1-3 cm, 1-3 cm high, smooth, sticky when damp; shiny when dry, cream to ochre-brown or brown, with dark centre, with cracked patches, with pale overhanging margin.
Gills grey to black.
Stem 4-15 cm x 2-8 mm, smooth, white pruinose, whitish, with evanescent, membranous, white ring and ochre-brown base. Flesh white. Taste mild. Smell mushroom-like.
Suspect.
Occurrence
Fairly common on horse and cow dung rich in straw in sparsely manured grassland and heathand on sandy soil. Summer to autumn.
