Description
Cap ovoid to expanded with depressed centre, Ø 1-3 cm, 8-13 mm high, deeply radially furrowed, matt, light brown to white-grey, with orange brown centre.
Gills whitish to grey-black.
Stem 4-6 cm x 1-2 mm, fragile, matt, white with bulbous base. Flesh grey-buff. Taste mild. Smell none.

Occurrence
On humus-rich soils, often among grass on rich soil. Summer to autumn.
Saprophyte.

Related and/or similar species
- Coprinus leiocephalus, which can only be, distinguished with certainty from Coprinus plicatilis by microscopic features.
