Description
Cap ovoid to campanulate, Ø 15-45 mm, 10-25 mm high, radially striped, creamy ochre to pale ochrous brown, covered with fibrillose-floccose, white veil, cracking into concentric, flattened scaly zones.
Gills whitish grey to black.
Stem 5-11 cm x 3-7 mm, smooth, white, becoming brown when touched, the lower part white-floccose. Flesh whitish. Taste mild. Smell none.
Suspicious.
Occurrence
On humus-rich soil or on wood and bark chips in broad-leaved woods, parks and sand dunes on rich soil. Spring to summer.
Saprophyte.
