Pale Livid Grisette
Description
Cap conical, then campanulate, Ø 8-12 cm, smooth, light or dark greyish or salmon pink ochrous yellow to brown-grey, occasionally with dingy white patches, with faintly striped margin. Gills white to cream.
Stem 7-12 x 1-3 cm, white, with whitish or yellowish scales in belts forming a ring zone at the base, with the base encased in a membranous, whitish volva. Flesh white. Smell faint, unpleasant.
Occurrence
Near old broad-leaved trees (Oak) in avenues on river clay.
Forming ectomycorrhiza.
