Description
Cap ovoid, then convex with raised centre, Ø 6-10 cm, smooth, white to cream, often with brownish centre, with adpressed, ochrous yellow to pale brown scales overhanging the margin. Gills white to cream.
Stem 4-6 cm x 8-10 mm, smooth, whitish cream, with narrow ring and bulbous base staining brown. Flesh white. Smell faint. Edible.

Occurrence
In unmanured grasslands and roadsides.
Saprophyte.
