Description
Cap hemispherical to convex expanded, Ø 7-10 cm, dingy cream to pale grey, with flattened, fibrillose, brown scales, margin overhung with velar remnants.
Stem 8-10 cm x 15-20 mm, whitish to pale brown, below the thin, whitish and pale brown ring a ring-like belt and a tapering base. Flesh whitish, reddening strongly. Taste mild Smell disagreeably sweetish to fruity.
Edible.
Occurrence
On the ground and on compost in parks, young scrub and roadsides on recently disturbed, rich soil.
