Rosellinia aquila

Description
Less than 1cm: Use magnifying glass.
Fruit-body spherical with a nipple, Ø 1-2 mm. Perithecia dark brown to black, with papilla, usually clustered on a brown, dense hyphal mat.

Occurrence
On dead branches of broad-leaved trees (favouring maple), especially on the branches at the bottom of piles of Prunings. February to May.
Saprophyte.
