Description
Fruit-body perennial, hard, hoof-shaped to bracket-like, 3-6 x 2-4 cm, 2-4 cm thick. Upper surface velvety to smooth, yellow-brown to rusty brown, often green due to algal growth, with acute, rusty brown margin. With several tube layers.
Tubes each layer 2-3 mm long, cinnamon. Pores 5-7 per mm, circular, beige to rusty brown or dark brown.
Spore-print colour white.
Occurrence
Common on trunks and branches of Hawthorn, especially in dune scrub.
