Description
Fruit-body cushion-shaped to bracket-like, Ø up to 25 cm. Cap bulb-shaped, surrounded by pendulous spines, stem short or absent. Spines up to 6 cm long, white to cream, dingy yellow or dingy orange-yellow. Flesh white.
Spore-print colour white.
Edible.

Occurrence
On wounds on trunks of deciduous trees (Beech) in parks and along avenues.
Parasitic. (Saprophyte).
