Description
Cap convex to plane, Ø 3-6 cm, smooth, sticky, bright lemon-yellow to olive at the margin, which is often overhung with brown velar remnants.
Gills pale yellow to cinnamon.
Stem 4-12 cm x 5-11 mm, pale lemon-yellow at the apex, yellow, brown fibrous below the zone with velar remnants, rusty brown at the base. Flesh yellow to yellow-brown. Taste mild to bitter. Smell agreeably sweet.
Occurrence
Fairly common on dead wood of deciduous trees, favouring Alder and Willow, in woods on sandy soil.
