Description
Cap bell-shaped to expanding with a bump, Ø 2-4 cm, smooth, matted silk, finely radial fibrous, dark blue or steel blue to dull grey blue with a darker centre.
Gills whitish to pink or brown pink.
Stem 3-7 cm x 2-4 mm, blue to blue grey, sometimes with whitish longitudinal filaments and with a white felted base. Flesh whitish to blue. Smell faint, flour-like.
Occurrence
In coniferous forests (Pine, Spruce, Fir) and mixed forests (Birch) on moderately dry, poor sandy soils.
Saprophyte, possible forming ectomycorrhiza).
