Description
Cap hemispherical to irregularly flattened convex, Ø 5-15 cm, whitish to light brown, cracking into rough, brownish scales and becoming reddish when damaged.
Gills pale grey or flesh brown to dark brown.
Stem 5-7 x 2-4 cm, whitish, with a single, thin, whitish ring and tapering, grey-brown at the base. Flesh white becoming reddish. Taste unpleasant. Smell fishy.
Suspicious.

Occurrence
On the ground on mud flats, brackish grasslands and sea embankments.
Saprophyte.
