A group of small Agarics with thin, fleshy leathery tough or cartilagenous fruit-bodies, shrivelling up when dry or with age, reviving on wetting (33.jpg). Spores white to cream. In Britain more than 40 species of the genera Marasmius, Marasmiellus and Micromphale occur.
