Wax Caps

A group of usually brightly coloured Agarics, often with slimy or viscid caps and with broad, waxy gills. Spores white to cream. In Britain more than 25 species of the genus Hygrophorus and double the number of species of the related genus Hygrocybe (Camarophyllus) occur.
